The theme for this year’s GA is “Media for the Future”. The host RRI and ABU Secretariat are also committed to make the 53rd GA a Green Assembly with a very minimum carbon footprint.
The ABU General Assembly will be held on 24 and 25 October 2016. Preceding the General Assembly will be the traditional annual meetings of the ABU Sports Group, Radio Working Party, Programme and Technical Committees, the 5th Women With the Wave Forum and a Quality Management Workshop. These meetings will be held during the period of 18–22 October. Our host RRI has kindly arranged a full day excursion on 23 October 2016 to enjoy the splendour of the iconic island of Bali.
On 26 October the World Broadcasting Unions will gather for a one-day conference to discuss the role of public service media in the digital age.
